The first law of expert advice

"They say the secret to success and happiness is all in your head"
If that's true, I wonder why aren't all physchologists and physciatrists rich and happy?
Perhaps the answer is that they devote almost all of their time and efforts in studying human weaknesses instead of human strengths. Trying to explain why we do dumb things instead of trying to figure out why we do smart things.
Most people are too busy living to create wealth. Too busy to find love, happiness and wisdom. That would require; silence, stillness and solitude which is essential to really get the most out of your brain. To quiet the mind so that the answers can manifest.
It's not that you can't afford the time to be quiet and still, it's that you can't afford not to!
Oh, and the first law of expert advice is....
"don't ask the barber if you need a haircut"

I like that, Edouardo; the part where you observe that psychologists spend a lot of time figuring out why people do dumb things instead of smart things!
This is a terrific post. And perhaps one of the smartest things we can do is to stop and do nothing--and allow the stillness to lead to wisdom and discernment.
Keep writing!
thanks Steve, I'm a big believer in using silence to find wisdom. Here's another article on silence you might enjoy...

Excellent insights, many thanks!!!
Pity those poor psychologists, they listen to unhappy people all day talking about their problems.
It's much more rewarding to focus on positive strategies and solutions, which you do very well.
Too many people chase after Success thinking it will bring them Happiness... but there are lots of successful people who are NOT especially happy.
Being Guided By Goodness, Fueling your Life and your Work with Fun, Living by the Highest and Best Values are reliable paths to happiness...
Thanks so much for some great insights!
