This surprised me....
Are you curious about how much more money you will need to create a little more happiness in your life?
These statistics were taken from a 2004 Associated Press poll. Rated according to their annual income it shows the percentage of people who claim to VERY HAPPY!
Annual Income:
Less than $20,000 = 22%
$20,000 up to $49,999 = 30%
$50,000 up to $89,999 = 42%
$90,000 and up = 43%
Do you find those statistics as surprising as I do? As you can see the happiness gains trail off after a certain dollar amount. So I guess in the long run, I won't be that much happier when I win the lotto after all.
I suppose I better be nicer to the relatives and my amigos!

I will say that I am not surprised. Everything we have read about wealth and wealth building seems to indicate that those who strive for wealth do so to achieve happiness in terms of personal goals (houses, trips, or whatever). So it stands to reason that higher income earners as a general rule would be happier. I think there was a quote in that "Secrets of the Millionaire Mind" book that went like this - Money may not buy you happiness but being poor definitely won't'.
Looks like someone else reads the same books I do. I think the stats show that money does buy happiness but only to a certain point. After that, happiness is derived from other things.
On the other hand, Eduardo, these stats also show us that regardless of income, well over 50% of people are not very happy, so you have a large growth area for your blog!!

thanks for your comments! I'm agreeing with both of you. And thanks for the reminder to buy the book...
