I was going through withdrawal....

"My computer caught a virus, and it left me speechless"
For the past couple of days I was without my soapbox (computer) lots to say and no way to get to the internet. It's amazing how dependent I have become on technology.
I tried jotting down some ideas on paper but habits are hard to change. But all is well and I'm baaaaack!

I turned off my TV, music, cell phone, and pager the other day. I lasted 5 minutes!! It is surprising just how much we depend on that constant "noise"-- which is really what most of it is. I think the reason most people are afraid of "listening to their own thoughts in the quiet" is because there's nothing there!! ha.. Seriously, try it sometime.
actually Chappy, I've come to love the silence and living in my head. It's even more strange and at the same time wonderous than I imagined.
I agree completely. It's just those first few minutes that are totally weird-- like a "noise withdrawal"-- but with a little persistence, it IS wonderful. With a little practice, 5 minutes of silence is more enlightening and relaxing and totally beneficial than 8 hours of "work".
That is one of those areas where hypnosis is handy!
