insignificant effort

a kind gesture
a smile
a gentle touch
to a wounded soul
your insignificant effort
can mean so much

to the lonely
to the depressed
feelings are so intense
your karma echoes
you changed your world
your pyschic reward
will be immense

Eduardo

Smile, it looks really good on you!

Now THAT is deep!! Much more so that it first appears. I could meditate on that for days!!

thanks for noticing this one Chappy. I wrote it a few years ago, and for some reason it just keeps coming back to me. Truthfully, I'm not sure if I wrote it or I was just some channel for it. Come to think of it, a lot of what I write seems familiar after I write it, something I can't really explain...

Do you know the Vedas? There is a basic theory there that there is ONE God-- and YOU are IT!! According to that theory, everything and everybody is a little portion of God or "source" or whatever you choose to call it, experiencing life in it's infinite possibilities-- and ALL happening at once!! There is NO time, no future, no past-- all right now but different planes, and these little glimpses of "familiarity" are just little bits of "signals from another experiencial plane" crossing into this one! It's kinda like getting TWO radio signals-- and since they are BOTH going out at the same time- it only matters which one we "tune in" to-- and our "inpsirations" are merely those "cross-over" connections. I hope I didn't screw that up too badly-- but you get the idea-- and there IS a kind of unusual logic to it. Even the Word says "there is NOTHING new under the sun"...

that's a little heavy for my poor brain to comprehend, but strangely I think I understand what you are saying, and I agree.
I've been wrestling with the concept that God is within us and we are a part of God. I just have not come to grips with how to describe this in a way that might make sense to me or to the readers.

It's kinda simple, really. Let's say you go down to the ocean and you scoop out a glass full of water. If you hold it up and look at it, it's the exact same as the ocean you just removed it from. If you pour that water on a rock wall, not much happens other than a little dust is removed and particles in the water left behind. But if the entire ocean came up against that little rock wall---bingo-- no more wall. It's like that with us and God. We are little "containers" full of God (although you can't tell it from some of our actions) with the SAME spirit, the SAME creative ability, the SAME faith, love, all that-- just NOT as much of it. We don't have the power God has because He is SOURCE-- like the ocean, and we are "little pieces" of that-- still conscious, still thinking-- just limited on what we can do.
How's THAT for an analogy?? If you are of an electrical bent, the power station is source and we are little "batteries"-- we are part and parcel of the same thing, just way less than the whole!! Those may not be EXACT analogies but they indeed get at least a portion of the point across. That is basically the same thing the Vedas said-- there is ONE God (source) and WE are it (just as the glass of water IS ocean) and we are all experiencing a little piece of life, so we are all in effect, God experiencing His creation through us. Something to think about, huh??

WOW-- every single time I read this, I am just in AWE of the "gold nuggets" buried in that one. You GOTTA save all these up for a book--- especially the ones like this..

thanks Chappy, and yes one day it will be in the book. I confess everytime I read it, I wonder to myself ....where did that come from? I felt inspired one day and just put pen to paper and 10 mins later there it was. Next to the 'go gently' poem, its my favourite.
