8 things I wished I'd known when I was younger

Wouldn't it be nice if we hadn't made so many mistakes in our past?

Some things it seems we just have to learn the hard way. But others we learn through experience and we can pass it on to our kids or others. Here are some of those things that I wished I'd known earlier in my life....

1. Everything is easier than you think.

2. Everything takes longer and costs more than you think.

3. Whatever you want to do, has probably been done by someone successfully before, so if you can get their advice in person or from a book you will save time, money and grief.

4. No matter how complicated something is, it can be broken down into simplier parts.

5. Always ask yourself....who can help?

6. Small gradual improvements (Kaizen theory) can lead to big and impressive results.

7. Spend less than you make (enough said)

8. Take more risks. I'm not talking about betting the family farm on the stock market. Doing things like public speaking can be a terrific high and worth the risk. Or how about starting that business you've dreamed about. We all would benefit from getting outside our comfort zone occasionally.

Ok, now its your turn to pass on some wisdom! Tell us what you wished you had learned years ago.

P.S. And when your sweetie asks you if she looks fat in that dress....suck up your courage, look lovingly into her eyes and...... LIE!

Here are some of the things I have learned.

1. Choose your battles wisely, if you complain about everything people will never take you seriously.
2. Take care of your body, it's the only one you'll ever have.
3. A good sense of humor will get you through almost anything.
4. Make learning a lifelong goal, otherwise your brain will atrophy. No matter how old you are, you don't have to think old.
5. The book is always better than
the movie.
6. Play every chance you get. Remember how much fun it was to go outside at recess when you were in grammer school!
7. Never pass up a chance to tell your loved ones how important they are to you.
8. The more you give away, the more you can receive.
9. Time is more valuble than money.
10. If you really want something affirm that it is already yours because it really is.
11. Make a habit of listening to children, they know things that you forgot as you grew up.
12. Everytime you are upset or in conflict realize that it was your choice to go there because no one and no thing has any power over you unless you give it to them.
13. Be quick to forgive others and yourself. By not forgiving you guarantee that you will remain stuck at the point where you developed your resentment.

Well Ed, that really taxed my brain!!! I hope some of that makes sense.
