Relax

"happiness is the meaning
and the purpose of life,
the whole aim and the end
of human existance"

Aristotle

I've got more good news for you! Once again I've discovered more proof that your life was meant to be fun and easy.

Researchers in Canada and Scotland have released their joint study that shows that sitting upright is not good for your spine or your health. This is no problem if you are comfortably prone on your sofa watching American Idol or a movie. However, we know that many people do work sitting upright at a desk. That is not good for you, so stop that.

It seems the position that is best for your spine is to lean back in your chair at a 45 degree angle. So what does this mean?

It must mean that God intended us to lean back and enjoy life, right? Makes sense to me. Man wasn't designed to sit upright at work or leisure. I feel better already!

Smile, you have my permission to put your feet up on the desk (it's good for you)

P.S. NO....those are not my legs in the photo, so keep those smart-alec remarks to yourself....grrrr

You have everything you need

Did you ever have one of those thoughts you just couldn't get out of your head? Me too!
Lately, I keep thinking....I have everything I need.

This is a strange thought for me because, I know there is no beer in the fridge and the new BMW convertible, that I've been dreaming about is no where to be seen. So amigo, what can this mean?

I have noticed lately, something different is happening in my life. At times, I'll be doing something and need a tool or I'll be writing and need an idea; then poof, I get the idea or I'll think of some way of improvising for a tool I don't have. Sometimes I need help and out of the blue, help appears.

So I'm thinking is it because I'm holding this belief that I'm seeing and finding possibilities I just might not have noticed before? Was everything I needed there, but just below my level of awareness?

What if I decide that I need 10 million dollars? Well, I'm pretty darn certain that baring a computer glitch, I can go to the bank and it won't be there.

However, if I assume that I have everything I need, then maybe I already have the ideas to manifest it? This is getting interesting!

For those of us who believe that what we concentrate on becomes real, this might be a really valuable thought. Whatever it is, I'm thinking this is a pretty good belief to have. So I'm keeping it.

Anything that makes my life; fun, easy and abundant has to be a good thing!

Eduardo

P.S. I orginally wrote this article about 8 months ago. Since that time it has been incredible how much I've gained from holding this belief. It's like the gates to abundance opened up and it will for you as well. Tape this thought to your computer, your fridge and your forehead if you have to, keep reminding yourself...I have everything I need!

It is all your fault

Before I can charge ahead into 2009 I feel the need to stop and appreciate all that 2008 brought into my life.

2 years ago I had the brilliant idea to start this blog. I started with great enthusiasm and a belief that it would be my gift to the world wide web (corny huh?) Now as I look back at nearly 600 articles written, it's time to reflect on what I've achieved.

I have several confessions to make...

Initially I wanted to build a huge base of readers to share in the wisdom of Eduardo. I set some goals for number of visits and silly stuff like that. I laugh (or as I've learned...LOL) now at my excitement when for the first time, I had 1,000 visitors stop by in one day and actually read my stuff. Man, I thought I was really cooking. Then a funny thing happened (very gradually)

The more I researched my topic on how to make life fun, easy and abundant, the more I came to the realization that I in fact knew very little. At first this was dishearting, you can imagine how my ego imploded at this discovery. Here I was writing like I was some informed inspirational leader only to discover that some of supposed students knew a ton more than me!

"every happy person carries within himself a dreamer. And if he is to maintain happiness over a lifetime then the dreamer must become a believer in something worthwhile"

Undaunted but humbled, I set out to acquire the knowledge I was deficient in. I decided to read one book per week (I'm happy to say, I've exceeded that). In addition I spent on average 2-3 hours every evening researching. Gradually, I've gotten more comfortable and confident with the knowledge I've absorbed.

"what we think we know, get's in the way of what we are capable of"

So am I now an expert? Not so grasshopper! I'll be dammed if the more I learn, the more I realize what I don't know. Is that frustrating? No, I get so excited every time I happen upon a great thought (whether it be my own or someone else's) that most days I feel like the proverbial kid in the candy store.

"we interpret our world according to our level of consciousness"

As I've crammed more knowledge into the limited confines of my brain, I've made another discovery.....I'm actually capable of original thought. Wow, now there's a breakthrough. I quickly came to see that a great many authors are just parroting the same ideas over and over again. As an example, how many books and articles have you seen on the Law of Attraction. That one alone, must have paid the bills for a stadium full of copy cat writers.

"the more energy and time that we give any endeavor, the higher the probability of a successful outcome"

As I look upon this fresh new year in front of me, I'm juiced and excited at the mere thought of the possibilities:

What new thoughts and ideas will come my way?
What new friends will I make?
How much more fun can I have?
How will I become more spiritual?
How much can I give?
How will my life become more peaceful?
What love is to be experienced?
How much more abundance will flow to me?
Oh, and the good times to be had, the jokes to share!

My excitement for the New Year would exceed your boredom, so I'll give it a rest. So I suppose if you've read this far, you must have reached the same conclusion as me. I was really writing for myself. I have no idea how much others might have gained, but I feel like writing has made me the big winner.

Another confession (then I'll stop, I promise)

I would not have kept on writing without you! Publishing what I've written on the internet and getting comments back is the fuel that keeps my brain cells fired up and makes we want to burn up the keyboard. So I'm indebted to all that stop by and share in my wacky ideas.

My pledge for 2009 is to keep on writing only with better content, while still amusing myself. Maybe after another year of reading, writing, researching and straining my poor brain, I'll actually become some sort of an expert on living a life that is fun, easy and over-flowing with abundance. In true, Truthteller style, here is my final quote of the day....

"money is a lot like sex, if you don't have any, it's all you can think about" (yeah, I know it had nothing to do with the subject but it made me laugh)

Smile, it looks really good on you!

Lessons from the lazy man

"you can't teach people
to be lazy....either they
have it, or they don't"

Dagwood Bumstead

So here is one of my wacky theories explained, that says to get what we want, we need to quit working hard! I'll bet that got your interest?

The universe doesn't fight or snarl. It does things in the easiest and most efficient manner possible. Just as electricity finds the path of least resistance, water flows to the lowest point in the land and forms rivers that find the path of least resistance on its journey to the ocean. It does this because it is the easiest way (letting gravity do the work).

So I'm thinking that life is like that (or should be). We should quit trying so damn hard to be successful or happy. We should follow natures example and take the easy way.

Aha, I can imagine what you are saying to yourself? This nut thinks he will be happy and successful by doing nothing! Well you are right (I am a nut) no actually I mean you can get what you want by doing nothing (well almost nothing).

So what pray tell Eddyweirdo, is the easiest path you speak of? Well grasshopper, it's all about dreaming and thinking! That sounds fun and easy, right? (it's ok, I always talk to myself)

Imagine the consequences if we worked 4 hours per day and then spent the next 4 hours dreaming up possibilities and thinking of how to implement them? Now if someone can tell me how to sell the idea to employers, we could change the world.

"progress is made by lazy men,
looking for easier ways to do things"
(Robert A. Heinlein)

Smile, and join the fun easy movement!

Eduardo

P.S. Oops, I just thought of a major flaw to my plan....for some folks thinking and dreaming of new possibilities is hard work! (it's back to the drawing board Prof Eduardo)

Work is a 4 letter word!

"I am opposed to work, I think it is beneath me and totally unnecessary"

With that statement, I'm comfortable knowing that I have removed all doubt and you now consider me a certifiable, full blown wacko. Strangely, I like that thought.

Before you run away from this site, lend me your eyeballs for a few moments and I'll tell you how I got there! First, raise your hands if you like going to work? Just as I suspected....most of you would sooner be anywhere else. Well amigos, I have good news.

"you can accomplish more without working"

While I reject the necessity of work, I embrace the concept of great effort. It takes effort just to survive and a lot more to achieve anything worthwhile. Just don't confuse work with effort.

I suspect that you might be thinking that I'm just playing semantics with you. (at least you didn't say I'm working with semantics). Not so my friends.

To explain myself, let me give an example. If you asked me to go to the gym and work out to the point that every inch of my clothing was soaked in sweat and when I finished, I was so dog tired I could hardly move....I might tell you to get lost (or worse). On the other hand, if you asked me to play several games of squash with the same results, I would jump at the opportunity. If it's fun I'm all for it, if it's work, forget it.

"the easiest path to success and happiness is the fun one"

That is the Truthteller philosophy! The same thing applies to your vocation. If you have a job you love, it is fun to give your best effort. If you hate it, it is hard work and drudgery.

There are two ways to improve your vocation. Quit and get a job you like or put the fun into the one you have. Too bad most employers don't understand this. When it feels like you aren't really working is when you are most productive. Get lost in the task and time flies. Truth be told, most think they are working hard, however they are producing small results.

"kick the work habit"

Your life shouldn't be an uphill battle, go with the flow...get a job you like! In the process you become happier and more successful. You may have to take a pay cut to do what you love, but not for long. Doing what you love will fire up your creativity and who knows what great ideas will surface to increase your wealth. At the worst, you will be happier.

"Smile, everything is possible if you can have fun doing it"

Cosmic Jokester

Did you ever get the feeling that this life is just one big joke, being played out at your expense?

Some things just don't seem to make sense. Here is a short list, that I've been contemplating...

*To conquer your enemies....love them.
*To find God....stop looking.
*To gain wisdom....stop thinking.
*To feel wealthy....give it away.
*To gain influence....place other people's interests first.
*To be perceived as smart....say nothing
*When you are at your lowest....you are on the brink of incredible opportunity
*The best way to lead....is to serve
*The one who talks the most...isn't heard
*When you have the most choices...it makes you unhappy
*To feel loved....give it away
*The best way to impress others...is to be impressed with them

(that list looks like future articles for me to write...hmmm)

At times life just doesn't seem logical and maybe that's why so many people struggle. But what if it's all just a big joke? What if there is a God (or Goddess, women like to have fun too) and he or she gets together with their amigos, every once in awhile to have some fun with us little people down here?

Now things would start to make sense to me! For instance...some years ago, I was listening to a speaker promoting his memory course. He demonstrated his craft by memorizing the names of every person in the room (there were about 50 of us) plus some details about each of us. And this was just for starters, the guy was amazing, he had all kinds of memory tricks....I was impressed!

So I plunked down my 100 bucks. After all, as my friends know I tend to have a suspect memory. If I get really involved in something I can forget seemingly small details, like to pick up my son after school.

Anyway, I was conjuring up in my mind all the benefits and how I would impress my friends with my new impressive display of memory skills. They were going to impressed next week after I graduated from the course. There was only one problem....I forgot to go!

This little story has entertained many over the years and always at my embarassing expense. I can't begin to count how times I've heard lines from so called friends like, how many times did he resell the same course to you? A cosmic joke? I think so.

It's things like this that have led me to believe that life is not meant to be taken so serious. If it's one big cosmic joke, then I want to be in on it. And if my head is full of hot air as many have long suspected...so what? When my life on this planet is done, the least they will say of me is...the fool sure had a good time!

Smile, and people will think you are in on the joke!

It's about time you took your inner child out for a spin!

"the foundest memory of my childhood,
was making my friends laugh so hard,
that their soft drink came out of their nose"

This article was inspired by a discussion by the Happiness Club, an internet discussion group. The discussion got me thinking about 'lost childhoods'.

Many of us had less than desireable childhoods, don't get me wrong, mine was mostly good, however parts were not. Quite awhile back, I decided that rather than dwell on what wasn't I could and would create what is.

Now, I can't be a child again, however, I still have my inner child. That part of me that can in a moment be child-like, playful and downright goofy. So now I tell others...

"it's not my inner child
I'm afraid of losing touch with,
it's my outer adult"

We can reconnect with our inner child at will and in a million different ways. Remember what it was like as a child, to lay on your back and try and find interesting shapes in the cloud formations? How about getting a bike and going for a ride again? Tobogganing, playing in the sand at the beach, telling corny jokes, running and kicking through a pile of leaves, jumping in a mud puddle...I'm sure you get the idea. Just think of what you liked or wanted to do as child and go for it. It's never too late to have a happy childhood!

"if you carry your childhood with you,
you never grow older"
Tom Sheppard

Even if your physical abilities prevent you doing some activities, there are other things you probably enjoyed as a child. Try drawing, painting or writing a story or poem. It really matters not whether you are good at it, only that you have FUN! How about finger painting?

"the things which the child loves
remain in the domain of the heart"
Kahlil Gibran

Children are naturals at finding joy and happiness especially with their imagination. We've all seen young kids have more fun with the box, then with the gift inside?

Still having trouble with the concept? Then go borrow a child and get down on the floor and play with them. Don't worry, kids can always think of a game. So let's dust off our imagination, connect with the kid in you, and go for a spin.

Smile, it looks really good on you!

It is solved by walking

"Truth finds you on a long walk"

'It is solved by walking' is a quote from St. Augustine, a monk from hundreds of years ago and one smart guy. Old St. Augustine figured out that he could solve most of his problems by simply going for a walk. Like him, I've found that when something is bugging me, if I go for a walk it helps to clear my head.As usual the solutions are simple. At times we can feel trapped, confined and restricted in our cars, homes or offices. A little fresh air and a stroll can do wonders. I think this is do our 'fight or flight' mechanism when we are under stress. A little exercise gets the blood flowing and mind working.

"If you want to know if your brain is flabby, feel your legs" Bruce Barton

And then there are the health benefits including weight loss, protecting your heart and stress relief. Walking is a terrific way to release hurt and negative feelings. The list could go on but you get the idea.

Solitary Stroll

This uses your body to relieve tension by working the muscles. Without anyone elses thoughts interferring with yours you can get your own worked out. I find it helps me with writers block. A long walk is sure to get the ideas flowing. Problems and creative ideas are resolved in half the time. Silence and solitude are the pathway to a peaceful soul.

Walking Therapy

Got a problem with your spouse, friend or child. Take them for a walk in the park or on the beach. Without all the interferences of TV, radio, cell phones etc. it is possible to get real communication. Couples that walk together, stay together. I remember back a few years ago, I had a problem with an employee and had decided that it would be best to fire him. Instead I took him for a walk in the park and we got into a discussion of his problems. By the time we had returned to the office, I was amazed at his change of attitude. We had a great exchange and we both came to realize that the problems were solveable.

"I am a slow walker, but I never walk backwards" Abraham Lincoln

Even back in old St Augustine's times there must have been distractions like monks praying too loud, or complaining church members. Today there must be a hundred fold distractions. Hey, if nothing else going for a walk gets you out of the house or office for a little peace and quiet. 'Todas esta bien' It's all good!

"I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me" Fred Allen

And the last word should go to Philospher Friedrich Nietzche who said...'all truly great thoughts are conceived by walking'.

Eduardo

P.S. Did you know that there are 1,440 minutes in a day? Couldn't you spare just 20 of them to get a little exercise and some good ideas?

Which is greater...willpower or imaginiation?

"a reality never contemplated,
may exisit for others,
but it never will for you"

There is no denying that many people have got to where they are now through sheer willpower. So that's a good thing, right? Well yes, but only if you like to do things the hard way. Here at the Truthteller we always opt for the fun easy way and willpower is not that. So let's consider what willpower is?

"Willpower is the manisfestation of ego"

Willpower is you against the world. Willpower lacks a conscience and invites opportunities to; cheat, steal and decieve in order to reach that which you desire. It is the belief that in order for I to win, others must lose. Willpower is like a bulldozer. There is only one path and that is straight ahead. If others need to be buried in the process and we leave a path of destruction in our wake....so what, that is merely the cost.

And I'm just getting warmed up...

To willpower, kindness, generosity and empathy are puny weaklings. The world has limited resouces and that which is to be gained must be won in battle. Because life is viewed as a solitary battle, there is no need to share with the losers (the rest of mankind). There can be no win/win. Willpower is the way of tyrants, dictators and bullies.

Willpower is hard and difficult. It is comprised of sacrifice which include; morals, kindness, love, generosity and the sacrifice of others to our cause. It is crude, archaic, unsophisticated and amoral. Willpower as a means of achievement is so yesterday!

I want to be clear that I'm not confusing willpower with determination which is firmness of purpose. Determination unlike willpower can be flexible. How the goal is reached is less important than that it be achieved. Determination can work with any chosen path to success and there is no need to sacrifice higher ideals.

Phew...I'll bet you are glad that rant is over?

Today we want; enlightenment, peace, friendship, health and of course wealth as well. And we don't want it to be hard and difficult. We don't want to sacrifice ourselves our family and friends to get it. And the answer is....IMAGINATION!

Imagination requires far less effort and can sometimes be almost effortless. Without the interference of ego, imagination opens the doors to inspiration. Imagination is without limits or options. There no end of opportunities, more than enough for everyone. The world is limitless.

Now this sounds better...

Because there are so many paths available to Imagination, there is no need to forsake morals or ethics. There is always another choice. You are in total control (well, you and the universe). Imagination is limitless and win/win takes no more effort than does a solitary win for yourself.

Willpower has made millionaires...Imagination has made billionaires.

Do want some examples? Look no further than the internet wizards like the founders of You Tube or Google. How about Bill Gates? These people made billions and they did it in a few years and not a lifetime. And they still have wives and kids to spend time with and enjoy. That Gates guy and his wife, now spend their time giving away billions to charity (along with a few extra billion thrown in by Warren Buffett)...nice job!

Maybe your ambition is not to become a billionaire but with imagination you sure as heck can have a life that is fun, easy and over-flowing with abundance.

The real message here is that you can have everything....health, wealth, spiritual satisfaction, love and great friends. Don't be deceived to believe you have to sacrifice anything you value at the alter of success.

Stay tuned because now that I've got myself all hot and bothered about the powers of imagination, I suppose the logical thing to do would be to write it!

Send this to your boss...IT'S IMPORTANT!

"science has concluded that the smartest empoyers, give their employees the most holidays"

It's cold and snowing here in my little part of the world. I'm not feeling particularly motivated or productive. But I do know what ails me....I need a tropical vacation (and by the way amigos....SO DO YOU)

"holidays are good for you and your employer"

A study by New York University and University of Pittsburgh found that vacationers who returned from holidays tested better for alertness and were more productive (that makes your boss happy).

They also found that you would be 20 per cent less likely to have a non- fatal heart attack and 35 per cent less likely to die from coronary disease that those poor slobs who stayed at work. (good for you)

One more thing, they found vacationers enjoyed on average one more hour of sleep.
So I'm thinking if we took say, 3 major holidays a year, that would mean a 100% less chance of dying from a coronary disease. And think how happy the bosses would be if the workers were 3 times as sharp.

So for a healthier heart...exercise daily, eat nutritious foods, stay hydrated (with margaritas I presume) and take lots and lots of vacations.

See I told you.....Life was meant to be fun, easy and over-flowing with abundance!

Free energy source

Another great secret is about to be revealed right here and right now! I'm going to share with you, an absolutely free source of energy, that you can tap into right now. Please don't tell the government or they may want to tax it!

ta dum....drum roll please....
"if you are looking for an immediate energy boost, look for the happiest person in the room"

It's amazing the energy you can pick up from a happy person. It's like they have so much that they don't care if you take a little for yourself. In fact if they see that you are picking up some positive energy from them, then they just want to increase their energy output and give you more.

One caveat, don't bring negative energy around that person or he will flee with his good stuff. You'll be left all by your lonesome with only the others, with negative energy. You know, that 'like attracts like' thing. Hanging out with the negative energy crowd will make everyone feel lower than a snake's belly in a wheel rut pardner! (a little western humor).

Bonus tip.....
I'm giving out positive energy everyday at this site, so stop by for a fill up! (no charge)

I'll leave you with some wisdom from some dude named Will Rogers...
"the best way to make fire
from two sticks, is to make sure
that one of them is a match"

P.S. I wrote this article 2 years ago, but thought it relevant after reading a study that concluded that happiness is contageous. Who knew...I was ahead of my time!

The 'old' vaccuum law of prosperity

I'll bet you never heard of this one? I found this in an old book that was written in the early '60's written by Catherine Ponder. It's called the 'Vacuum Law of Prosperity' and this is what it says....

"If you want greater prosperity, start forming a vacuum to receive it"

In other words, get rid of what you don't want to make room for what you do want. Nature abhors a vacuum and will rush to fill it.

This one takes a certain boldness and faith to practice. Often it is difficult to know what you do want until you get rid of what you do not want. (oh no, I can see disgruntled wives showing their husbands to the door)

It does make a certain amount of sense that when you begin moving out of your life, what you do not want, you are automatically making way for what you do want. By letting go of the lessor you make way for the better.

One problem some of us might have with letting go of stuff, is that we have memories attached to them. One solution is to take pictures of the item you are discarding. That way you retain the memory but make space something better to come into your life.

So say goodbye to your blue polyester suit and stand by for your new wardrobe!

Eduardo

P.S. It just occurred to me that you might be considering throwing out this blog to make way for a better one.....PLEASE DISREGARD THIS POST!

God doesn't do ugly

Take a moment and ask yourself this question; what has your God created that is ugly?

"a weed is no more than a flower in disguise" (James Russell Lowell)

If we look at nature we all frequently use terms such as; wonderous, inspiring, magestic, awesome and breath-taking. Have you ever stood looking out at the bountiful ocean or at the snow capped mountains and thought to yourself; man this is ugly? Even when we look up at the skies and see a threatening storm, you can still find beauty if you will look for it.

"look deep into nature
and then you will understand
everything better"
(Albert Einstein)

No, only man can make ugly. We can destroy what is naturally beautiful with relative ease. We have the ability to rip up the wilderness, polute the skies and the water. We create ugly not the universe.

"put a child in nature at play,
and I challenge you to find even one iota of ugly, it's impossible"
(Eduardo)

We also create another kind of ugly....people! It is through our eyes that we create images of ugly people. If you believe in God, do you think he would create an ugly child? Of course not, it is our interpretation of his creation that allows for that terrible description. It is our perceptions and words that do so much damage.

"we look for evidence of miracles, forgetting that nature puts them on display every single day" (Eduardo)

Only man, purposely does ugly unto himself and those around him. We are the one's who can and do abuse and do ugly upon our physical bodies and even worse on our souls. It doesn't and shouldn't be that way. We need to create the sunshine within, so that we can share it with our world. We are resonsible to create a beautiful life for ourselves and others.

"Where did we ever get the crazy idea that in order to make children do better, first we have to make them feel worse? Think of the last time you felt humiliated or treated unfairly. Did you feel like cooperating or doing better?" (Jane Nelson)

Would anything that could create the northern lights, the magestic wilderness, the breathtaking beaches or put the diamonds in an infinite night sky, be capable of contemplating ugly on mankind?

Our contemplations of beauty, fade with years and no human can ever be enough, these are sad thoughts but also not reality. Real beauty comes from within, not from cosmetic surgury and make up. The light within a person is the real beauty that lasts. So be kind to yourself amigos and to every soul that crosses your path, we are God's creation and God doesn't do ugly!

Smile, it looks really good on you!

A dumb little prayer

"God please grant me serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference"

I saw that on a poster in a store they other day, I've seen it elsewhere at least a couple of hundred times. At first, I thought, I guess that little prayer helps a lot of people deal with lives problems. While I was driving around today, the thought occurred to me...man that's dumb!

How are we going to change things if we are praying for serenity, to accept what we don't like? How do I know what I have the power to change, if I don't try? And if I can't answer those questions, how am I going to find the wisdom to know the difference?

Well, that got me thinking I should change that little prayer around to something more useful. Something that might lead to real positive changes. I don't want to surrender to serenity, when it comes to things I think are wrong. I want the courage to tackle things I don't think are possible. And finally, I don't want the wisdom to know the difference or I'll never accomplish much.

What do you think who have happened to Jesus, Budda or Muhammed, if they had that attitude? Nothing great gets done with that kind of thinking! Unreasonable men (and women) accomplish fantastic things with unreasonable beliefs, right?

So amigos, I've re-written the little prayer, to suit me, what do you think?

"God grant me the honesty to know what is right,
the courage to take action,
and the wisdom to make a difference"

I like that, and I'm feeling better already.

Smile, it looks really good on you!

P.S. Another reason why its good to be deluded....people my age are so much older than me!

National Grouchy Day!

As I was having my morning coffee and paper I overheard two middle-aged ladies sitting nearby, complaining about getting older. I thought to myself...they don't look that old (after all as they say, old age is 15 years older than you are). At any rate, I had just read that this was National Grouchy Day, so I decided they were entitled to their grouchy day.

This did also get me thinking about 'old age' and I've collected a few thoughts, just in case you or someone you know is getting grumpy about getting older...

"I just love old things, like cheese, wine and you Eduardo"
from a friend (I think)

"there are compensations for aging. One is the realization that if your socks don't match, people won't critize your fashion sense, they'll just think of you as a loveable old eccentric" Eduardo

"a diplomat is a man, who always remember's a woman's birthday, but never remembers her age" Robert Frost

"being an old maid is like death by drowning, a really delightful sensation, after you cease struggling" Edna Ferber

"people who ask a woman her age, are silly, she isn't going to tell the truth anyway" Eduardo

"no matter how old a mother is, she still watches her middle-aged children, for signs of improvement" Florida Scott Maxwell

"when I was 14, my father was so ignorant, I could barely stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonded at how much the old man had learned in just 7 years" Mark Twain

Ok, there you go, you grouchy old people. And even if you are not old, you can be grumpy and grouchy all day long, if you feel like it. I'll leave you with one more thought...I've noticed that as soon as folks get too old to get into trouble, they find everything to complain about the younger generation!

Smile, it looks really good on you, or be a sour puss if you want (but just for today)

What do you collect?

I have an incredible collection which is priceless!

If you have no hobby then I highly recommend collecting. It is rewarding to see your collection grow in quanity and quality. And of course who knows how valuable it will one day be.

Collecting is something everyone can do. It doesn't have to cost you anything. Mine doesn't! My collection is left all over the place and free for the taking. And yet it is priceless to me.

I am a collector of ideas!

I started collecting quotes, thoughts and ideas some time ago. It started from my voracious reading habit. When something I read strikes me as enlightening, I write it down in my notebook. I found great usage for my collection. This blog is born from the quotes, thoughts and ideas I've collected.

A good quote is a summary of the ideas of the writer. Some writers take an entire book to share one idea that could be summed up in one great quote. Thinking about this I wrote in my book....

"you don't have to bore me, to convince me"

I also collect gems from things that my amigos say. Here are a couple of examples;

"good friends are hard to come by and even harder to get rid of" Eric aka Yoda

"to be kind all of the time, you have to shut up some of the time" JP aka Juan Pedro

"question authority"
Gracie aka Rita

Some come from sources unknown, such as;

"inside of every old person is a young person, wondering what the hell happened"

"even the mighty oak tree started out as a couple of nuts, who stood their guard"

"the guy who dies with the most toys, is still dead"

"if you help a friend in need, he is sure to remember you the next time he is in need"

"time wounds all heels"

"save water, drink beer"

"intelligence has its limitations, stupidity is infinite"

So there you have just a mere glimpse of my collection. I have notebooks full of gems of wisdom and humor. A good hobby like collecting can expand your mind and amuse your amigos.

Smile, we were born as originals so why become copies
